Advancing Global Efforts to Reduce Methane Emissions

Milieu Consulting is supporting the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) in an in-depth study aimed at enhancing the implementation of methane abatement partnerships. As methane emissions are a significant contributor to climate change, addressing them is crucial to meeting global climate objectives and ensuring compliance with the EU Methane Regulation.

This study will analyse stakeholder dynamics, implementation models, and investment landscapes to identify practical pathways for operationalising effective methane abatement partnerships. A key component of this work is the examination of case studies, focusing on partnerships between:

• Germany and Angola
• Italy and Azerbaijan
• Spain and Algeria

Through stakeholder mapping, legal and financial analysis, and country-specific insights, Milieu will contribute to identifying key actors, investment needs, and regulatory challenges. This research will provide actionable recommendations for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and investors looking to develop sustainable and compliant methane reduction initiatives.

By supporting efforts to reduce methane emissions globally, this work promotes both regulatory compliance and sustainable energy practices in line with international climate commitments.
