New Reports Published: Study on Sanctions for Discrimination

Milieu is proud to have supported the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers (DG JUST) in the Study on sanctions for discrimination on racial, ethnic, and religious grounds. We developed two reports:

  • A comparative study examining how sanctions for discrimination are prescribed and applied across the EU.

  • A Good Practice Guide for different stakeholders dealing with sanctions for discrimination.

The reports are now available:

These reports provide valuable insights into how sanctions can be used to combat discrimination across the EU, ensuring more effective, proportionate and dissuasive sanctions, and the enforcement of anti-discrimination.

As part of this project, Milieu also organised a participatory event in November 2024 to bring together key stakeholders and discuss the study’s findings. Read more about the event here.

We are pleased to see this research contribute to ongoing discussions on strengthening equality and non-discrimination across Europe.
