Rachel Dempsey

Rachel Dempsey is an experienced editor/proofreader and people manager. With over 25 years of diverse professional experience, Rachel has gained an in-depth understanding of people management and commercial discipline.
As our Human Resources’ Director, Rachel is responsible for, among other things, recruitment, people development and training.

As a qualified teacher of English as a second language, Rachel took over the responsibility for, and the coordination of, all our proofreading and editing when she started in Milieu in 2014. Since then she has been involved in many of Milieu’s projects as the Editor/Proofreader.

Prior to working at Milieu, Rachel had a successful business teaching English to students of all ages and abilities. Before moving to Belgium, Rachel’s career was based in the UK where she worked as a business analyst in the telecommunications and banking sectors for nine years. Prior to that, and following her graduation from university, she worked in the written complaints’ department of an international bank for two years where she was quickly recognised as the senior in the team due to her expertise in the written language.

Rachel holds a BA in European Business and French and a Certificate of Educational Studies in Teaching English (and Business English) to Speakers of Other Languages. Rachel is a UK/Belgian national with native English and fluency in French.
