Katalin joined Milieu in 2010 and has over 15 years of professional experience supporting EU institutions through projects entailing high-quality legal and policy analyses. She holds a Law degree from the University of Debrecen (Hungary), a Master’s degree in Central and Eastern European Studies from the University of Reims (France), and pursued further studies in international relations and diplomacy at the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium). This academic background underpins her strong legal analytical skills and her solid understanding of EU policy-making and institutional processes.

Her work spans the entire EU policy cycle, from compliance checks and implementation reviews to evaluations and impact assessments conducted under the Better Regulation framework. She has extensive experience supporting the European Commission, the European Parliament and other EU bodies on complex, multi-country and often multi-disciplinary studies. She combines rigorous research and methodological expertise with strong project and proposal management skills, allowing her to deliver clear, evidence-based outputs tailored to institutional needs. Her core areas of expertise include justice and home affairs, with particular attention to fundamental rights.

Katalin’s mother tongue is Hungarian. She has full professional proficiency in English and a working knowledge of French.
