Julie Dorval

Julie Dorval is a French national who joined Milieu in August 2021. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Nantes University as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Applied Languages (English and Spanish). Julie graduated from Maastricht University with an LLM in European Union law and with another LLM in international and European law with a specialisation in human rights from Wrocław University. Julie’s specific areas of interest are fundamental rights, justice, citizenship, migration and asylum. Since joining Milieu, Julie has been involved in numerous projects on behalf of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Fundamental Rights Agency, the European Data Protection Board, the European Union Intellectual Property Office or the European Labour Authority conducting horizontal analysis of multi-country studies, coordinating projects and carrying out national legal research and analysis covering in particular France and Luxembourg. Prior to joining Milieu, Julie worked as a paralegal in EU and competition law in a law firm in Brussels before undertaking a five-month traineeship at the Legal Service of the European Commission as an assistant to the Director General. French is Julie’s mother tongue. She is fluent in English and has a good command of Spanish.
