Laura Sznajder

Laura Sznajder, a Polish and German national, has been working with Milieu since June 2023. She holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland, as well as an LL.B. in German and Polish Law and an LL.M. in German and Polish Law from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany, completed as part of a joint programme. Her academic background provided her with a comprehensive understanding of both the Polish and German legal systems and their interaction within European Union law, with a strong focus on comparative legal analysis. During her studies, Laura worked as a student assistant at the Chair of International Law, Eastern Law and Comparative Law at the European University Viadrina. In this role, she conducted legal research and contributed to various academic projects and events organised by the Chair, with a thematic focus on European human rights’ protection systems. At Milieu, she has been involved in a wide range of projects and proposals for European institutions and agencies. Her work includes conducting national and EU-level legal research and analysis, as well as assessing the implementation of EU law in Member States, primarily in Poland, Germany, and Austria. Her areas of interest include environmental and biodiversity protection, climate change, digital development, European fundamental rights, and cultural heritage protection. Laura is fluent in Polish, German, English, and Dutch, and has a good command of French.
