Laura Vona

Senior Advisor

Laura Vona is a lawyer who joined Milieu in 2021. She specialises in EU environmental, energy and climate law, and regularly applies her expertise to other policy areas, including consumer protection, private international law, access to justice and fundamental rights. She conducts EU-level and national regulatory analysis, supports stakeholder consultation processes, and coordinates and manages projects. Her methodological experience includes evaluations and fitness checks, impact assessments, analysis of policy implementation and enforcement, and comparative legal research. She regularly carries out national legal research and analysis, with particular experience covering Italy, Spain, France and Belgium. Laura holds a Law degree (IT/FR double-degree) from Roma Tre University and Poitiers University. She also obtained an LL.M. in European Union Law from the College of Europe in Bruges, a bilingual (EN/FR) programme, where she developed an in-depth understanding of both the substantive and constitutional dimensions of EU law. Prior to joining Milieu, she worked at the Court of Justice of the European Union as a lawyer-linguist, translating legal documents from French, English and Spanish into Italian and further strengthening her expertise in legal drafting and comparative interpretation. Laura also completed the professional traineeship required for the Italian Bar exam, which she passed in November 2021. Italian is her mother tongue. She is fluent in English and French and has a good command of Spanish.
