Massimo Marziali
Associate Advisor
Massimo Marziali is a qualified Italian lawyer with extensive experience in European Union law. He has been working with Milieu since 2019 and has contributed to numerous compliance assessment projects and studies for the European Commission (DG FISMA, DG HOME, DG JUST, DG MOVE, DG ENV, DG SANTE). He has served as Project Manager, Deputy Project Manager, and national legal expert for Italy in several conformity studies. His work involves reviewing Member States’ legal frameworks, assessing EU law transposition, and evaluating the alignment of non-EU countries’ legislation with the EU acquis. His responsibilities include contract management, coordinating country experts, client liaison, legal research and analysis, and data collection through methods such as interviews and surveys with relevant authorities and stakeholders. Massimo’s professional focus is primarily on EU financial services and banking, while also covering a wide range of EU policy areas. Before working with Milieu, he completed a Blue Book traineeship at the European Commission (DG INTPA, Legal Affairs Unit) in 2017 and worked as legal counsel at Eni Bank in 2018. He holds a five-year law degree from the University of Macerata, a Master’s in Political Management from LUISS School of Government (Rome), and a Master’s in Biolaw from the University of Murcia (Spain). His academic and professional experience across Europe allows him to work fluently in English, French, and Spanish.
