Ágnes Csonta

Ágnes joined Milieu in 2019. Her main fields of expertise are fundamental rights, equality and access to justice. She holds a Master’s degree in European Union Law from the University of Bucharest (Romania), as well as joint Erasmus Mundus Master’s degrees in Human Rights Policy and Practice awarded by the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), University of Deusto (Spain) and University of Roehampton (UK). At Milieu, she specialises in justice and home affairs, while also working on employment, financial law, environmental law and internal market issues, reflecting a broad understanding of EU policy and regulatory frameworks. Her work includes the management and delivery of complex multi-country projects involving large teams of experts across all EU Member States and beyond, for clients such as various Directorates-General of the European Commission and the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights. She also conducts and oversees legal and policy research, qualitative and quantitative data collection, comparative analysis, and quality assurance of deliverables. She drafts compliance assessment studies or reports on the transposition and implementation of EU legislation and policies, including as national expert for Romania and Hungary, and contributes to feasibility studies, evaluations and impact assessments. Prior to joining Milieu, she worked for seven years in the fields of minority protection and human rights, both in the governmental and non-governmental sectors. Ágnes is a native Hungarian speaker and is fluent in English and Romanian.
