Miia-Mari Paavonaho

Miia joined Milieu in 2024 and since then she has been working on various tasks in the employment and social justice realms. For example, for the EESC, she contributed to the project on intergenerational poverty by creating a definition, mapping policies, and defining problem drivers. For the EPRS, she has worked on analysing the Equal Treatment Directive and researching changes in the updated Youth Guarantee. She has also been working on analysing the social impacts in relation to a free trade agreement. Miia works with both policy and legal analysis, literature reviews, national research, interviews and case studies. Miia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Stockholm University and a Master of International Politics degree from KU Leuven, where she specialised in European Politics and policy analysis. Finnish is her mother tongue, and she speaks English, Swedish and Dutch fluently. She is currently learning French.
