The workshop offered a platform for presenting and discussing the implementation of the Pledge and the national or regional activities. Discussion focused on improving forest resilience with multi-species planting strategies to integrate wildfire risk considerations in tree planting activities, the need for diverse and climate adaptative species and financial resources including public and private partnerships to scale up efforts.

The workshop featured sessions on supporting the increase of forest cover in Denmark, raising awareness about EU and Danish tree planting initiatives and the EU tree counter, exchanging good practices among Member States on achieving synergies in afforestation planning, discussing strategies to reverse biodiversity loss and combat climate change, and highlighting the economic and public health benefits of tree planting initiatives.

The webinar focused on presenting and discussing the key findings of the report on challenges and barriers to tree planting. The implementation of the pledge depends on grassroots initiatives in the Member States, at national, subnational, and local level. Linking with stakeholders is key for discussing challenges in tree planting and sharing experiences and solutions.
